It's been a long time since I've blogged! Probably because I've been so busy knitting and sewing. Ok, mostly sewing and playing outside with my babes!

So...here's what I've been up to;

The other day I got to meet Shoeless Val! We went to the park and had a fantastic time! I am SO glad that she and I live in the same town. I think we will have many more park days to come :)

I have also been making a lot of pillowcase dresses! Here are some being modeled by my nieces and friends :)

Happy Mother's Day! Another blog that I read had this poem on it. I loved it, so I stole it! :) Hope you enjoy it and are having a fabulous Mother's Day. I know I am.

Now That I Am Forever With Child, by Audre Lorde

How the days went
while you were blooming within me
I remember each upon each--
the swelling changed planes of my body
and how you first fluttered, then jumped
and I thought it was my heart.

How the days wound down
and the turning of winter
I recall, with you growing heavy
against the wind. I thought
now her hands
are formed, and her hair
has started to curl
now her teeth are done
now she sneezes.
Then the seed opened
I bore you one morning just before spring
My head rang like a fiery piston
my legs were towers between which
A new world was passing.

Since then
I can only distinguish
one thread within running hours
You, flowing through selves
toward You.

This is my gift from my Husband. We were at Ross Dress for Less last night, and saw this painting. We've never bought art before (weird huh?). We saw this and it was just HOME for us. We had to get it. It hangs in my kitchen, not crooked like it looks in the picture, and it is just beautiful.

Ok, I have a few minutes!!! S is watching Sesame Street and A is happily playing downstairs!!! All the stars are in alignment, so I can now show off what I've been doing!

First up, Pillowcase Dress!!! I found this great idea on this awesome blog! I actually made this out of some fun knit fabric I got at Walmart. I adore it!!! Oh, and I used the extra wide bias tape, worked fantastic! (thanks Mom!) Oh and by the way, my dear friend Nicole, first turned me on to these pillowcase dresses! She will have pictures VERY SOON on her blog (hint, hint)

Next up....the second Shirred Dress!! I love this one even more than the first. I've found a small problem that I need to fix though. I didn't do this one quite like the last and so some of the stitches are coming out (argh). But, I think they are easily fixable. Feast your eyes on this cute cute dress!

I think she was sad about my sock dying too.

And, lest you think I sew only for the girlchild...I made this!

Like the boy in his underoos? Oh and speaking of the boy...a few silly faces from him to leave you with.

Ok, I am taking a break from my moment of silence to tell you all about a Mother's Day contest I just read about. Girls, this is AWESOME! Follow the link in my sidebar for the Mother's Day Giveaway, or just follow this link. There are some great prizes and we all know how much we deserve them!!!

Hopefully tomorrow I will have a chance to post pictures of the sewing I've been doing :)
May we please have a moment of silence. There has been a great tragedy today. My first sock, the one I have loved since October, has fallen. This has been a very warm, trusty sock. I should not be as surprised as I am about this injury that has befallen upon my beloved. But, I am. I made this sock out of Cascade 220. Therefore, there were no reinforcements to the heel. I think that this beautiful sock tried really hard to make it, but just couldn't as it was worn day in and day out. May we all remember the lovely sock and mourn for it this day.

My only comfort comes from the words of my very wise almost 3 year old. "Mom, it's ok your sock will be fine!" Yes, in sock heaven, my sock will be fine.

Given the tragedy of the day, I will not be blogging about my current knitting or sewing projects today. I'll have to do it tomorrow. Oh, and I really need to finish my other pair of socks now.
